This February 23, a vigil will be held in front of the Cuban Embassy in Washington, DC to commemorate the twelfth anniversary of the murder of Orlando Zapata Tamayo in Castro's prisons, and to demand the freedom of all political prisoners and the end of repression. in Cuba.

“The Center for a Free Cuba (CFC) is calling on activists to meet at 6PM in front of Castro regime's embassy to remember Orlando Zapata Tamayo, who was killed during a hunger strike on February 23, 2010 due to torture, to which he was subjected in the Kilo 8 Prison in Camagüey that led to his death, announced by the regime in Havana,” said John Suárez, executive director of the CFC.

This vigil is held in memory of the victims of Castroism and in defense of human rights in Cuba for all Cubans.

The vigil will take place on February 23 at 2630 16th Street NW, Washington, DC at 6:00PM.

"We are also calling for the freedom of all Cuban political prisoners, expressed through an online petition for the end of repression on the island and the freedom of those imprisoned," explained John Suárez.
