Free Cuba groups host prayer walk and civic walk to the Cuban Embassy in Washington DC to demonstrate solidarity with Cuban dissidents in Cuba

Center for a Free Cuba. November 12, 2021. Washington, DC. The Center for a Free Cuba, together with the Patmos Institute and CubaDecide will host two events in solidarity with Cubans protesting in Cuba on November 15, 2021.

WHO: Center for a Free Cuba, together with the Patmos Institute and CubaDecide

WHAT: Prayer Walk on Sunday, Nov 14th at 3pm and Civic Walk on Monday, Nov 15th at 3pm to demonstrate solidarity with Cubans protesting in Cuba.

WHEN: November 14 at 3:00pm on Sunday and November 15 at 3:00pm on Monday.

WHERE: Walk from Meridian Hill Park (16th St NW & W St NW, Washington, DC ) to the Cuban Embassy (2630 16th St NW Wash DC)

The first event is a Prayer Walk for Cuba and will take place beginning on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00pm at Meridian Hill Park (16th St NW & W St NW, Washington, DC ) with activists gathering in the park then at 3:00pm walking in prayer to the Cuban Embassy (2630 16th St NW Wash DC) and remaining outside it until 4pm praying, reading poetry, and listening to music.

Participants will pray for Cuban dissidents and call for an end to the violence in Cuba, respect for the human rights of all Cubans and the freedom of all Cuban political prisoners.

This will take place 24 hours to the event in Cuba.

The second event is a civic walk from 2:00pm at Meridian Hill Park (16th St NW & W St NW, Washington, DC ) with activists gathering in the park then at 3:00pm walking in prayer to the Cuban Embassy and remaining outside it until 6pm picketing the embassy, reading the names of political prisoners, and martyrs of the dictatorship.

Over 120 events have been planned around the world by different organizations and movements in solidarity with the 15N Civic March announced to take place on November 15, 2021 at 3:00pm.
