Vicky Huddleston endorses Cuba's president "low key and dignified approach."

Diaz Canel's thugs try to silence US Ambassador at the UN.

Recently, Ambassador Vicky Huddleston, a former chief of the United States Interests Section in Havana spoke admiringly about Miguel Diaz Canel, the man hand-picked by General Raul  Castro to be president of Cuba.  Diaz Canel, according to Huddleston exudes a  "low-key and dignified approach to his job both in Cuba and the United States."  He spoke at the United Nations where the world community listen to his denunciations of the United States and was cordially received by American politicians, corporate leaders and a coterie of American supporters.

BUT, there was nothing low-key or dignified at the United NATIONS this Tuesday when, according to CNN, "Cuban diplomats interrupted a US-hosted event about Cuba's political prisoners at the United Nations by pounding on the table, essentially drowning out remarks by Ambassador Kelley E. Currie, US Representative on the UN Economic and Social Council.

Apparently Ambassador Huddleston has forgotten the criminal nature of the Cuban regime. There is nothing new about the shameful behavior of Raul Castro's diplomats at the United Nations. Years ago, Cuban diplomats were expelled and withdrawn from London and Paris due to their links to Carlos the Jackal, the infamous Venezuelan terrorist who murdered dozens of people and injured hundreds around the world in the 1980's. Ambassador Huddleston should read Georges Santayana's The Life of Reason where he said “those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Please, do not hold your breath. Ms. Huddleston is more than likely to continue giving the Cuban tyranny the benefit of the doubt.
